B. Ballad 2: The Wife Of David Ingersoll Poem by Hannington Mumo

B. Ballad 2: The Wife Of David Ingersoll

Mary was her name of christening,
The talkative lady who won David Ingersoll's heart;
The two vows exchanged when she's twenty two
And he score and six;
The two the glorious deed chose to do
After a decade of intimate stay,
And finally the duo chose the christian way.

The wedding was a colourful affair,
The high and mighty all were there;
Small and big, short and tall
Came to see the taciturn David
And the weaverbird of a lady,
Mary the maid endowed with a quick tongue of sway,
Swear themselves into common stay.
