Baby By The Shore Poem by Robbie Squires

Baby By The Shore

Hello my baby by the shore
Is your heart an open door?
Can I take a long walk inside
Or is it hidden in deep disguise
Come on home girl, to my open arms
Why cant they see that I mean no harm
It’s the woman in you that brings out the love in me

Hello my diamond in the rough
Why does it have to be this tough?
If any of it was really my choice
Id make it so I can hear your voice
Everyday from here on out
Id make that change without a doubt
It’s the sweetness in you that brings out the love in me

Hello my light inside the black
For this wall we must attack
Can I take you for a walk
I wish we could do more than talk
Oh how id love to walk with you
Our hands would bond like paper and glue
It’s the beauty in you that brings out the love in me

Goodbye target on my back
At what point did you plan to attack?
Can I keep it off me for a while
Because ive got someone to smile
Cant you see that im done with your games
Don’t point the finger, you’re the one to blame
It was the cruelness in you that gave someones love to me
