Behind The Music Poem by Robbie Squires

Behind The Music

Rating: 5.0

Behind the music we’re all the same
Behind the music the posters have no name
When the lights go out, the life stays behind
In the arenas, stadiums, seats, and ticket lines
They money gets traded but the fans stay true
The roadies get one credit for doing what they do
We travel all night to the next town ahead
Eight months pass without a real bed
Some people don’t know but you’re the ones we serve
In return, the money, the money we don’t deserve
Ya can’t trust anyone who lives like we do
Empty hearts and broken bottles will never be nothing new
Some say the big machine’ll turn us over in the end
So I’ll stand by and let it die
And make my steel strings bend
We can play it soft and play it right
Or shred it loose and fast the very next night
We might say its cool but it’s really not
Just ask the millions that music forgot
Behind the music were all the same
Behind the music the posters have no name
Inside the monster we escape the lies
Inside the monster we never really die
