Back to back
Of today's door to door
-the first and one to last
-were pages back to back
-filled with love, very soft
-and painful, rich of facts
The first was smile of
-pomegranate
-sweet with lips cracked,
Had received a note and
-shocking note or message:
- "Slowly knock the door
-on right side, after gate."
So-I-did
-a dog barked
-some movements
-door unlocked
-pair of lakes in her face
- surprised small waves
"Is this? ? ? "
-I questioned
-gave the name
She approved
- "But is now…"
-as cute as a bud
-felt her hug
- "…in school…and is out …"
I had been messenger
-dove for love
-love of son or daughter?
-a lover or husband; someone cared!
Space turned galaxies
-of stars and roses
-I felt scents; pleasant.
I went on with the knocks
-door to door
-knock-knock-knock
-have been and will go on
-meeting and asking, talk
This is where I live and
-must see life, of social
One to last appeared
-she held on to walker
-shook muscles on her face
-opened mouth with comment:
- "Old is gold is a lie…"
-and she had sixty-eight
"Recently died sister…"
-she said I, sympathised
- "Condolence…"
-she went on:
- "brother is stuck inside a nursing-house."
I talked nice
-as one must:
- "Wish you best…"
"Can't be best…"
-she sighed with…
- "I am in Toronto …
-and he in Ottawa …"
Heard not of children…
-what a world!
Wanted to stay to comfort her
-how could I?
-all I did was simple
-helped her by
-leaving gifts on walker
Then, "Goodbye…"
-verbally…
-heavy with her deep pains is my heart!
