Back To Earth Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Back To Earth

Time to wish it,
From what it is to experience.
Does.
Every second of it,
Can be witnessed moving.
Not an hour of it remains,
To stay as is.
Without it to notice,
Moving forward.

All of our ancestors gone.
Can attest to this movement.
If they had that opportunity.
That opportunity,
To all of us living to say...
'Snap out of it!
Wake up from your nonsense.
What is it on this Earth,
Orbiting the Sun.
In this timeless Universe.
Do you believe is yours?
To keep to own.
With conflicts.
And racial divisions started.
Will be of benefit to anyone?
Even belligerence to condone,
Back to Earth all of it goes! '

And yet...
This fact to dismiss as that.
There are those,
Bandits of greed.
Selfish and thoughtless.
Fighting amongst themselves.
In the hopes that an image,
That represents...
A delusion to idolize it.
Is worth the fighting for.
To a death...
No one has yet can describe,
Either the color of it.
Or can demand,
Its representation...
Is a colorless event!

'We come to fight like hell! '

'And...
For who and for what? '

'Our right to be...
Our right to be...'

'Human beings?
Or seen as fools?
Well...
One of those choices,
You have yet to prove.
To do that better.
And the other?
Nothing about that to prove,
To repeatedly do...
Is unique at all.'
