Backseat Lover Poem by Deona Skidmore

Backseat Lover

She's a pretty girl
Beautiful in all that she is
Strong in all she's not
(But you should see her with her shirt off...)

She's smart,
But she's suffered one too many broken hearts
Carried too many men, who let her fall apart
(Yeah, but you should see her with her clothes off...)

She's enigmatic, broken and impure,
She doesn't want to hurt anyone,
But she's afraid of being sure
(Yeah, but you should see her in the back seat, writhing under your hands, She was trying to tell you, It takes more than age to make a man)

She's hurting and she's wounded.
Of her love, she's not sure,
Her loyalty is torn, between now and before
(MY...GOD.....BABY.....Oh....my GOD.)

You should see her in the backseat,
Writhing under your hands,
You should see her with her shirt off,
When you can't breathe to make demands
You should see her when she's down,
When her feelings are amiss
She'll give you all she is
Every inch you'll missed.

So maybe she doesn't know,
How to give you everything,
But she'll make you come back,
She'll make your body sing
