Extraordinary Woman Poem by Deona Skidmore

Extraordinary Woman

she had two children before she was 19.
labled a loser before she had to show them a thing or two.
An extraoridinary person if there ever was one.
Mother and father both to spoiled hellions.
But there were always presents under the tree 'from: ' two deadbeat fathers.
That she never let those hellions know didn't buy a goddamned thing.
Didn't sit by bedsides nursing sick babies.
Didn't deserve the lot she was given, but she proved them all wrong.
But an extraordinary woman, doesn't even ask for retribution.
She sponsers cheerleading, dancing and creative writing, working two jobs to afford the life she wanted her babies to have.
