Baha’i’s Perspective On Soul Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Baha’i’s Perspective On Soul

The soul and the body together
Constitute the human beings.
The soul does not enter or leave
The body nor occupies space.
The soul associates itself
At one’s embryonic stage
And disassociates itself
From the body going functionless.

The soul is distinct from the body
And not integrated into it.
It’s reflections of light
On the mirror, the body.
The light that falls on the mirror
Is not inside it. So is the soul.
Genderless and race-less is the soul
It has neither pre-birth nor rebirth.
