Bailey Poem by Andrus Cassian

Bailey

For all these years
How have you been the only one
who has never escaped my memories
What is it about you
What is the secret beyond you
which draws me so very close to you
Silver Winter
was it my chance to forget you
or keep you buried among my thoughts forever
It was never like you would leave anyway
Your blonde hair and increasingly haunting emerald eyes
encased in the colorless hint of a shade of night
from the makeup around your eyes to your fingertips
What is it about your description
that makes you more of a drug than an antidote
for I find my mind dipping into my pen
magically tracing a picture of your face
mentally drawing a depiction of how your appearance
would appeal to me
And why, I can't find the answer
And why, I still can't figure out
And why, I believe I will never know
Why you've chosen me to haunt
Why it's you I'm so determined to see
Why in my head I can whisper I love you
like I've known you my entire life
like you're not name picked from a twisted dream
like you're not just something in my imagination
like you're not someone make believe
like you're not someone I don't even know
Who are you
Bailey
Who are you
Bailey
please if you are real
prove it to me
Bailey
was that clothing store in my dream
our tryst or was it a setting I was never aware of
or was it just a setting that's also make believe
Bailey
appear to me, appeal to me
Bailey
Who are you
Bailey
Why are you more of a drug to me than antidote
Bailey
Who are you
