The bake-off started back in 1949
It was to celebrate a birthday
Because Pillsbury was 80 years old
A bake-off was the best way
Folks threw themselves into baking
The most delicious pies and cakes
Cookies were so scrumptious
These bakers had what it takes
And because there were so many
People that stepped up to the plate
Or the stove, you might say
To scrap it would be in haste
So they tried it again the next year
And again it was a enormous hit
The bake-off was just perfect
And they decided not to quit
Fifty years have gone by, my friend
And the rules have not gotten soft
Because so many bakers
Have participated in this bake-off!

Marilyn, you make me want to bake a cake. Oh, la la! ! A Tiramisu would be so good with some hot tea. I so love your work.....*June*
