Bang Bang (Devil No Access) Poem by April Humason

Bang Bang (Devil No Access)

Once I walked too close to flame,
Playing with shadows, flirting with pain.
Didn't know the battle was in my mind,
Didn't see the trap behind the sign.

Then I heard that sound — not a gun,
But Heaven's voice saying, 'You're not done.'
BANG — went the chains that held me tight.
BANG — when the dark met Holy Light.
Bang bang — no more lies.
Bang bang — devil, goodbye.

You tried to whisper, twist my face,
Tried to trap me in shame and disgrace.
But the truth hit hard like thunder's roll,
And fire of God covered my soul.

BANG — went the thoughts you tried to plant.
BANG — went the fear you thought I'd grant.
Bang bang — your grip is gone.
Bang bang — I'm moving on.

I'm not your puppet, not your toy,
I'm sealed by Heaven, filled with joy.
You don't own me — you never did,
By Jesus' name, you backslide, rid.

BANG — when I called His name in pain.
BANG — when He snapped every chain.
Bang bang — devil fell down.
Bang bang — God crowned me now.

No longer trapped in your old sound,
No longer lost — I've been found.
The war you started? You already lost.
Jesus paid the final cost.

BANG — mercy louder than fear.
BANG — I'm still standing here.
Bang bang — get behind me now.
Bang bang — I belong to God.
