Fake Smiles Poem by April Humason

Fake Smiles

Rating: 5.0

In the realm of fake smiles, hearts do ache,
Relationships crumble, bonds start to break.
Loneliness arises, a chilling embrace,
As fleeting happiness fades, leaving no trace.

Choices made, paths laid, consequences unfold,
Promises shattered, hearts left cold.
The games we play, the words we say,
Lead to heartbreak, come what may.

Feelings isolated, connections fade,
Divorce debated, love's warmth delayed.
Families fated to wander astray,
Spouses once loved, now bitter display.

In the wake of fake smiles, the price we pay,
Families torn apart, skies once blue, now gray.
Hearts breaking, as love's charade is forsaken,
Loneliness awakening, the soul left shaken.
