Farewell To Yesterday Poem by April Humason

Farewell To Yesterday

Rating: 5.0

Tomorrow's sun will rise, a brand new morn,
But without you, my love, I'll be reborn.
No longer chained to your heart's careless song,
I'll set you free, for I am moving on.

In your eyes, I was a nobody,
A fleeting soul, unnoticed, lost at sea.
Now I'll fly with the wind, wild and carefree,
You're not worth the price, my heart's decree.

You drove me to the edge of the abyss,
With you, my love, there was no lasting bliss.
I break the chains that bound me in disdain,
With you, my dear, it always seemed to rain.

So as the stars fade, you'll be in my past,
Our love, like sand, slipping through the hourglass.
Life's too swift to dwell on what could not last,
I'll find my joy anew, leaving you aghast.

Now I bid farewell, and I'll be gone,
A new journey begins, at early dawn.
A fresh chapter unfolds, the past withdrawn,
Without you in my life, my spirit will spawn.
