Am evening of gathering
Of old and young
Hope for unsung tongue
The effect quite bewildering

Toast where everyone is a host
Each with a journey and story to tell
Words to excel and not dispel
Boast to have the utmost post

An evening worth admiring
A gathering for mentoring not philandering
For referring and for conferring
Trace of lighted face opened to answering

Like gods they long and thirst to create
Giving words breathing lungs at first to dilate
A banquet for poets and a place to relate
An outstanding etiquette for one to appreciate
