Bare Poem by Barry Middleton

Bare

the raintree and the oak
completely bare of leaves

all day the drizzle falls
like tears as nature grieves

the rain quenches a fire
in the palmetto brush

the breeze stirs a palm
noise is all a hush

this is familiar prelude
I've seen it many a time

death is everywhere
till earth composes rhyme
