Barely Breathing Poem by ESPN CHICK

I see the scar upon my arm
I strive for more but I know I must be strong
But I feel so weak that I can barely breathe
I grasp to feel the air

And there's no air around me
I don't know what to do anymore
Crying out your name Lord

Praying cause I know that's the only way out of this mess
I'm sorry for the things I've done
I don't know what else to say
I'm speechless as can be

You know me better than anyone
So please hear me out tonight
Free me from this pain

Breathe air into me and make me real once again
Cause Lord I can't do it on my own anymore
Every time I do I wind up back in the same place
I wind up broken and bruised

Lord hear me out tonight
I'm lying on the floor barely breathing
Feels like there's no air surrounding me

I need you because no one else will listen like you do
Open up my wounds and heal them and make me yours
Hold me underneath your wings
And protect me from the storms

Cause I know you're all I ever need
But there's always something holding me back from you
I need you now I have to be strong

I'm barely breathing and only you can save me
Only you can make me feel alive and help me breathe once again
I don't know what else to do so I'm coming to you hoping and praying
That no matter how many times I screw up you will be there to catch me when I fall
