Barriers Of Mistrust Poem by Francis Duggan

Barriers Of Mistrust

Though in public between people they like to differentiate
The people that many look up to and celebrate
Racist in their public utterances they spread their message of hate
And divisions between people they only help to create
They wave their national flags with a sense of patriotic pride
But they cannot unite those who only know how to divide
Those who genuinely love their Country are not racist in any sort ofa way
And do believe that all people of all races do deserve fair play
Patriots in name only is what their sort are
Yet to meet one of them you need not walk far
Some of them even reside on your street
And every day them you do happen to meet
Those who between people differentiate
Barriers of mistrust only help to create.
