Basket Case Poem by Jackie Chou

Basket Case

I try to bake a cake, but havoc is all I make
Wish I could create, like I did in '98
Words flooded my brain like a tsunami
Now I can't even fold origami
Yes, I was eccentric
But not yet in need of an antipsychotic
Flowers on my cap and gown
Purple stockings the talk of the town
Don't mean to glorify
My life before Abilify
I tear up thinking of bygone days
What can I say, I'm a basket case
