Battle Of Life Poem by Allyson Gordon

Battle Of Life

Rating: 1.0

The fire within
Has burnt out
My internal flame,
So slowly died
Leaving the ashes of my soul
To blow away with the breeze
Now there is a void
In my tainted heart.
Everything I was,
Everything I knew
Is gone now
Lost forever
I long for sunshine
I’m sick of the darkness
Can someone stop the rain?
Or the cyclones in my mind?
Life is passing me by
Chances and opportunities lost
In this war I’m fighting
The battle of life
I cannot win
If I die tonight
Where will I go?
I won’t go to hell,
For I am already there
