Be Humble Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Be Humble

Be humble

Guess you are deaf, blind
-I said it times and times
- 'Gringos and Yankees,
-you are thieves and rapists
-have been so, look at lists,
-have been so, caring least!
-come to sense…stupid.'

For years I, all my life
-felt this pain in my neck
-will get you, won't relax
-till succeed to get you,
-peacefully and love-filled
-unless you! ! ! ? ? ?

So please open eyes
-let ears to hear slogans
- 'Brutal, you deserve…'

I have been kind and fair
-I have been avoiding
-to hate and see you are
-rocking boat, deaf, blind

Beg you please become wise
-can you read between lines?

I hate the use of force
-I avoid using guns
-so please go revise

Set method of talking
-slogans and walking
-avoid hate-provoking
-throw out phobia
- (all of them, any kind)

Sufferers are many
-I am one, only one
-do not make us unite
-set fire on your life

I suggest and beg you
-go and read the La Paz
-of nineteenth-century
-the rise of indigenous

There you see Spanish
-and slaves who mimicked
-all scared to the bones
-frozen were contents
-inside their stomachs…

Who the hell you think is
-Blue-eyed, white skin?
-stop this, as racist…

We are ants and small
-scattered all around
-but have ways and will fight
-elephant; though too large
-if needed, when time comes

We suffered, know its taste
-so, hate to see others
-go through same tunnel

I beg you, bow to you
-kiss your hands
-and feet too

Don't let me become one
-of gunners who is armed
-and ready to shoot each
-white skinned as racist

I love you, want to love
-so please go and watch
-yourself, in the mirror
-sit for while in the chair
-that I sit and suffer

The trees with fruits
-lower heads, are humble
