Be Still My Heart Poem by Edwina Reizer

Be Still My Heart

Shattered is the heart
that never seems to heal.
It's lost in confusion
and devoid of hope.
It doesn't understand its plight.
It cannot seem to cope.

It does not need a jump-start.
All it needs is love.
It quickens and repairs itself
and all those pieces of
loneliness and sorrow
that entered in the night
are once again replaced
with everlasting light.

For what is life
when the heart is sick?
It's like a wall
that's made of brick,
Too high to climb,
Too hard to break,
too hard to console,
too easy to ache.

Be still my heart
let the pendulum swing.
I'll search for love
and in time you'll sing.
And you and I will nee'r feel cold.
We'll face new adventures
and be bold.

I will love
and you will heal.
Never again
will I let you feel
lost.
