Be Your Own Heroe - Poem by LaClaire mitchell nzerem

Be your own heroe
keep your ambitions high
peer pleasin' what?
in school,
grades just gettin' by?
Readin and writin', you call teachers wack/
Then expect to get yr kids a future,
be ahead of the pack?
Looks' like mcdonalds is what you can look to,
their managers get paid, but its hard for the crew.
Then their managers might have much more education,
you gotta read to move up, know the basics, times waistin'.
Be your own superman,
make yourself wings and fly!
Forget I wish, I hope,
my man, you must try! ! !
Forget I wish, I hope girl,
and what might have been.
Look to yr family,
there's role models within.
And if there are not, be the first
in your family
start up the new line,
let hope begin, polish your skills up and shine!
In each family there's mentors
ancestors from the past regardless of color,
working hard to make a difference in one way
or the other,
who layed down blocks,
paving ways for your future
pushing you to the top, without exempture.

Many who came from different places,
to keep future seed from becoming disgraces.
They have toiled, they have mopped
did minor jobs too,
so you'd have a future,
so you'd finish school.
Many rap stars & athletes have journeyed through college,
you have to read and write son, before you dropp knowledge.
What is a rhyme with history or past,
a story to make you aware, without context won't last.
Forget about maybe,
study hard get a plan
Know you're a solid gold winner,
be your own woman
and man! !
