Bear Arms Poem by Michael McKay

The second amendment states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Now, listen, if I want bear arms, then I am allowed to have bear arms! You, too, can have your own bear arms! And if I want an entire bear militia, that most likely will still fall under the rules of the second amendment. The right to bear arms must've been very important to the people of the 17-1800's, but I really wonder how in the world they had the technology or medical research then to properly make human-friendly bear arms. It's a strange thing to want, but I guess I can see the appeal...
I am now realizing that the right to bear arms.. is in terms of a militia… of citizens… who may or may not need to overthrow their government. You could say that I am now… embarrassed… maybe even slightly disappointed… but… I still see the important just the same.
I see now that the right to bear arms, the right to a citizen militia, the right to rebel, the right to act when you are told not to, the right to freedom and freedom alone… I now see its importance, just like our fathers did.
