Beasts Jaws Poem by Asteria Stars

Beasts Jaws

It was dark and cold
The chilly breeze comparing to that of one by the sea
I sit In the quiet of my room
Not a word was said
No other vessel sat in the room
That would end up being my endless tomb
I feel the lingering gaze of prying eyes
The ones that I feel will end my life

I stare down at my hands
My sharp nails glistening like dew drops in the moonlight
I look out the window
At the bright blessed gem in the sky
The one that had lay witnesses to my pitiful cries
The only thing on my mind being the look of my skin
The very skin that others had compared the shine to that of porcelain
So milky and white
Shining in the light

I lifted my hand
My nails sharp like claws
As I sink the jaws of the beast into my flesh
As it scratched and scratched
Till patches of red skin were left in its wake
As I quake at the bang and yell at my door.
The pleads and begs the sounded so sorrow filled
Riddled with empty promises of no more harm

My eyes dance across the room,
Tiny dancers moving to and fro around a stage,
I catch a glimpse of something long forgotten.
A shining ring
once vowed upon at a great tree
Now lay under piles of letters from friends now distant,
Causing soft flowing streams to grace down my face as I realize my sorrow,
my regret

I run to the window sill,
where small iridescent shimmers reflect from below
My savior had come,
The man who I love
The man who my father forbid me from seeing,
The man I had wed before this abuse
From this forced tyrannical marriage of my fathers doing.

So now here I fall
Nearing the ground each second
Till I hit
No pain can be felt,
No lights can be seen,
The only thing I can sense is him with me
As we journey into eternity
Still trapped in the jaws of a beast.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I dreamt this once and made it into a poem that I only shared with those close to me. The girl in it actually uses a coping mechanism of mine.
