Beautiful Day Poem by Francis Duggan

Beautiful Day

White butterflies above the brown paddocks play
On the second of March quite a beautiful day
The leaves on the deciduous trees not yet turning brown
In the coastal Moyne Shire near old Koroit Town
Though the dry countryside is in need of some rain
With such pleasant weather how can one complain
A weather temperature high for the day of a pleasant twenty two degrees
With a mild coastal breeze gently soughing in the trees
March in coastal south western Victoria can be a nice time of year
And the weather is often quite sunny and clear
In pursuit of flying insects chirping as they fly
Dark welcome swallows so gracefl to watch in the blue and gray sky
So good to be living is all i can say
On this second of March such a beautiful day.
