In a world devoid of beauty,
a hummingbird bathed
in a curled rose leaf.

i can't figure out why you used devoid. hmm? ***** had hummingbirds and roses ceased to be beautiful? ? but i 'love' the image made by the last two lines. i 'love' birds and had the satisfaction of getting to view, several times, a few years ago, a nest in a bush next to a sidewalk, where i could watch a 'mom' interact with two 'babies' over some days before they flew the coop. bri ;) *****just wondering. :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - de·void dəˈvoid/ adjective adjective: devoid entirely lacking or free from.
