Beauty Hanging High Poem by Rachel McLeod

Beauty Hanging High

I thought you would see it by now
No matter what I do I can't seem to make you proud
I've been neglected, mistreated, and hurt
Being with you was an all time perk
I work so hard for your love and trust
You're the one who got the best of us
Now you scream like Hell let loose
Well i give you a hug and hand you a noose.

You can hang me high, so you won't forget my face
Let the love run dry dripping in my place
You made this choice when you told me to leave
I had nowhere to go, you didn't appreciate me
So as i hang here looking down on you, I'll cry one more tear
Like the girl you knew
