Because They Say 'Nothing' Lasts Forever Poem by Elisha Chhabra

Because They Say 'Nothing' Lasts Forever

I still laugh so hard,
He doesn't compliment my grin.
I still talk so much,
He doesn't listen to my words.
I still look pretty fine,
He doesn't adore my magnificence.
Anymore.
He still cracks the funniest jokes,
I do not get to giggle.
He still smiles that dimple,
I am not the reason.
Anymore.
We still have the same phones,
We just don't talk.
Anymore.
I think it long and mad,
And how much I wish
We had nothing, so
We lived better.
Or,
We were nothing, so
We lasted forever.

A nicely written piece. Nothing really does last forever. Every day can bring change!
