Before Love
Before love
Arms were for eating with,
then they became busy elsewhere
You walked a beaten path
now limps reach where they never trod before
The lessons in anatomy
becoming like child play
Pain receptors moving to your mind
your body confusing your soul
What you thought inedible
becoming palatable
The world bearing new fruit
you a child at someone's feet
Suckling to grow fonder
Giving and forgiving
After love, life begins
born again,
unlike before love
