Street poetry...Replacing door glass
The drinkers
It was my lucky day
This I have to say
First finding a replacement glass
For my BMW525 in its class
To find a place open a day before level three lockdown
A place at Gazaland Shopping Centre not town.
As of five January twenty twenty one we are shutting down
For one month the new strain of Covid 19 here in town
I don't understand our leaders
Those who lead us
We were doing fairly well having lost about three hundred
Our countrymen; our kindred
The new strain came to South Africa from the UK
Holidays upon us the border was opened assuming it was ok.
A day or so the sick increased, casualties rebounded
Lockdown level three mounted
I was so happy to find a glass and the fitters
I bought all the ten workmen a drink each; the drinkers

The new strain from the UK is deadlier than all others. Take care, dear poet.
A well thought out piece of excellence. Thanks for sharing.
Lucky, indeed, you were! Of course, you shall not be allowed to take BMW on the streets, but you can park it where Lockdown-resisters may see it in all its radiance. It IS radiant, isn't it? bri ;)
For my BMW525 in its class To find a place open a day before level three lockdown. We in the NL are still on LockDown TWO. No influence from the UK, greatest relief, and....the poetess princess here may still drive her BMW528-i, what a greatest luck! Please, do not drink too much.
