Behind The Garnet Door - Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Behind a door inside my mind,
the one I've colored garnet red,
are lovers that my heart designed
to stroll through dreams where passion's fed.

A blue-eyed, studly, southern gent
possesses captivation's tone
and charms me through desire's ascent
until we reach contentment's zone.

In fantasies of lust I kneel
before temptation's leading man.
Seduction's voice and loins of steel
will execute excitement's plan.

While chords of romance softly play,
a youthful phantom's song is heard.
Entranced by lulling notes, we sway
and dance to pleasure's luring word.

A dark and handsome king of old
will wrap this princess in delight.
We'll consummate on sheets of gold
where rapture's sword enthralls my night.

This caring king has seized the show;
behind the door he's first in line.
My soul's ablaze and love will grow
as dreams and truth now intertwine.
