Behold Poem by Mfoniso Urua

Behold

Behold your king
as we look into his face
Nothing stays the same, absolutely nothing
we find direction in a crooked path
Behold your king
as we kiss his word with our eyes
light enters the dark places.
you are his
The Initiator and Architect of our lives
Holder of the key of today and tommorow
Behold your king

Nobody walks into the king's palace
and remains the same
as we walk into his presence
we are robed in royalty
stripped of stupidity
and bath in the sea of wisdom
Behold your king

Sickness escapes like vapour
dry bones live again
as we behold our king
we are spiced up with joy
Sugared with peace
The feeble and frail become strong and gallant
Can you stand with the king and remain the same?
Can you seat with the king and remain the same?
Nothing stays the same,
Absolutely nothing.
