Being Tough Poem by Randy McClave

Being Tough

You can pray all that you want
You can even place your prayer in a font,
And you can repeat it over and over again
Until no one knows when.
You can ask your friends and others
Even your own sisters and brothers,
For them to hurry and come to your side
To give you help and support and pride.
I remember this one time story
That I was told when I was a very young boy,
Being told that God and strength is always there
When solemnly in yourself to the Lord you say a prayer.
Remember, David picked up a stone
When the Lord God told him to act alone,
Only then did David get tough
When he was told to act against his enemy, Goliath.
