Bells Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

Bells

Why do you love me?
What is it that you see?

I pretend I'm more then I am.
I have even began to believe.
All these lies I always weave.

What is it you dream of?
When you look into my eyes?
Is it some deeper love?
That some deeper part of me provides?
A distant concordant beat that chides,
and holds us together no matter how distant our lives?

Tell me how your pain is stayed.
When the one you love the most has lost his way.
Do you see that all his strength is drained?
Do you see that every day of his life it's rained?
You see past what's outside, where tears have rarely stained.

You've lived so long without something.
You'd never have noticed.
But when you find it means everything.

and when you lose it
it's always lost.
you can't replace it.
it's always lost.
you'll never again feel it
and on a broken black sea tost'd
you'll finally understand the cost.

By never leaving your pain your always alone
Ever onward you'll seek anwser.
Longer and farther from past days flown.
Left was hole that became cancer
So in vain you'll always seek your anwser.
