Belly Laughs In Heaven Poem by linda blackwell

Belly Laughs In Heaven

Is it all part of God's little trick,
Or are the great scientists really just thick?
Have they really found the illusive God particle
That we've all read about in many an article?

Well, Heaven is a patient place,
And takes all this with real good grace.
But Heaven's angels scream with laughter
At the very thought of this Hadron Collider!

Sweet cherubs sliding through dimensions,
Are wondering at this new invention.
The scientists curse and grow very weary
As saints raise a hand to bless the string theory.

Heavens souls, shake their heads, and are asking why?
‘Why look for wormholes in the sky'?
Even the Baddies, they give such a snigger
As the scientists' world get smaller, not bigger

They plot nasty schemes and are devilishly clever,
While hoping the scientists look forever.
They are fiendish and horrid and try to prevent
Illuminating cosmic events.

Most Sundays, they launch the most subtle attacks
Upon the Cerne Lab creating setbacks.
Like emitting soundwaves from emerging black holes,
To the tune of ‘Baby, I've got rhythm deep in my soul'.

In the Palace above the violins play
While the great big Collider beavers away,
And Heaven heaves a great belly laugh
At everyone racing to find the right path.

God views it all with tremendous delight
As the truth rushes on at the great speed of light.
He heartily teases those in the know,
For the Kingdom above loves the struggle below!
