Beneath The Veil Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Beneath The Veil

No darker place exists
Than that world beneath the veil
Childless mothers grieve
In their own personal hell

Head bowed lost to us
She moves within a shadow
A mere piece of who she was
Before her life was shattered

This sunshine seems cruel now
This insane world is on display
What a blinding light this is
Shining on this passion play

Huddled at this tribal fire
The world around us dies
Out there they tell tall tales
And we all pay the price

Somewhere we lost our way my friends
We must get back to that fire
Dancing flames within our eyes
Reveal the truth, destroy the lies
