Bernie Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Bernie

Bernie

At the age ninety two
He's true, he's true; he's true

He has been all around
When bombs came; killed the war

He observed his wife die

"She was fun and serving
Brought food; was tempting
Then like tree, silently
Fell; turned lug
That is it; ended all."

An hour, maybe so
Like flame, a glow
His words danced
Talked of win and blow
"Kids are gone; I'm alone."

Asking me of my age
He saw me as a kid
"Long to go"

Krista behind me
"Oops! " I said when noticed.
"No worries, " Bernie said.
"Nothing was improper."
Brigitte; kind serving
Daryl cooked; too busy

What a day-What a day

Hey photos, Memories
Please remain; be carvings
When earth is devouring
My body, our bodies
You stay reviving.
