Best Wishes Poem by Claude Simpson

Best Wishes

Today
you celebrate
your birthday friend;
With joy going on and on to the very end.

You will get
a zit from eating all the cake.
But a little sweetness is ok when you take a break.

If I could
sing a song for you
I would do something beautiful and true.

I would
choose one filled
with melody; simple, sweet and catchy too.

But I wouldn't
want to bore you, so
A Happy Birthday wish will do.
