Bethlehem besieged
in this season of good cheer.
Check points are imposed
on ragged strangers who have
to flee from bombing.
Even Mary and Joseph
found refuge in a
crude stable.The stars were bright
that night. Now they're dead.
Still- born babies are the norm
not the exception.
Children's bodies lie lifeless
among the rubble.
Any protestors are gunned
down without mercy.
The dark thieves of holiness
are now burying the Light.
They are mowing lawns;
cutting the heads off daisies.
No spring flowers of hope grow
amongst the rubble.
And empty suits have
nothing purposeful to say.
Western - backed pogroms pounce on
the dispossessed. That
alas, my friends, is a fact.
