Betrayal Poem by Jan E Smith

Betrayal

Rating: 1.0

What makes marriage? Is it love and trust?
Is it standing together, avoiding all lust?

When together you stand and pledge your love,
is your promise with each other to God above?

When vows are broken and betrayal takes place,
do you offer forgiveness or spit in his face?

Do you ask yourself why he did not care?
Or know he is human and offer a prayer?

Does it help to be angry and get all up-tight?
No, life is too precious to waste on a fight.

Though the pain may be massive and tears fill your eyes,
his pain may be greater for living his lies.

So only one answer has come to my mind,
forgiveness is needed, it's time to be kind.
