Between Decadence And Fidelity... Poem by Mikel Calcagno

Between Decadence And Fidelity...

Rating: 2.5

I think there's a secret in telling
confusion has brought us here
and with each line given
i still have yet to read any scripts
my mind drifts
one picture to the next
one thought to another

I turned over this morning
only to realize that cold empty space

that now cold unoccupied part of the bed
which your body once held warm...

I can't recall being this alone for so long...
every night I've grown a bit more contempt
just laying there
realizing that bitter vacancy in our bed
wondering if what shall be will be...

I miss those nights my dear
the ones where your head would lay so close to mine
or the nights where we slept ever so inclined...
and before my eyes would catch that last wink
you'd tell me how happy i've made you
or my personal favorite 'Mikel, I love you'

Sleep carefully my love
and never forget
that if you are ever in need of being held
from a bad nights worth of dreams
that i'll be here waiting...
to catch you before that last wink

Infidelity sucks. Lovely words. 'a bad night worth of dreams.'
