Between My Diary Pages Poem by Dana Amer

Between My Diary Pages

Here am I, searching between the pages
Of my old diary book,
When a sudden anger rages
Of how similar my days actually look!

Every time I write a plan
In the same alignment, text & font,
But once again it all crashes down
& what I’ve left with is only “but...”

'but...', where the problem is? !
What is the thing that’s always missing?
Is it me or is it...
The same mistake but simply rewritten? !

How come plans never work out with me?
And dazzling dreams fade into black reality? !
Is it so hard for me to see?
That plans are driving me to insanity! !
