the night stares
into my eyes like
a wounded animal
pleading to relieve it
of its pain...
i try to pacify
the pervading night
dabbing it with colours
from the tube...
it soon recoils
to its original
blackness
and
bleakness
sleep now stares
into the eys of night;
a whining dog!

Speech acts are working here so obviously...staring, pleading, pervading, recoiling, whining....you work with the tools of the poetic trade...
