Beware Of The Arrow - Poem by Mark Savage

Beware of the arrow that flies so straight
For it can cut your heart in two
Beware of the virus that is catchy for some
For it can give a disease to you
Beware of the words of wisdom from some
For they could be deadly to your mind
Beware of the speeding car ahead
For it can move you from your line
Beware of the girl who says that she loves you
For she is human and all humans lie
Beware of the arm grasping your shoulder
For it can mean to you goodbye
Beware of the hand patting you on the back
For it can suddenly thrust a knife
Beware of the food that you have to eat
For it can be poisonous to your life
Beware of the winds of hurricanes or tornadoes
For they can blow you away
Beware of a “of course I’ll return”
For you might not see them another day
Beware of the friends who claim to know all
For they’ll tell your private business to others
Beware of the friends who are two-faced
They can be as evil as brother
Beware of the loved ones whom are jealous
For they could be the end of you
Beware of the arrow that flies so straight
For it can cut your heart in two
