Beyond Earth's Knowledge..(Part I) Poem by Sharon Smith

Beyond Earth's Knowledge..(Part I)

Rating: 5.0

When I was a little girl
all tucked away in bed
My eyes would suddenly open
So much going around my head

I knew that very moment
back in my room it be
I didn't have to look
as my mind could always see.

'Oh no...not again'
I would think in my bed
The monsters back here again
the one that's black and red.

The battles start in my head
I cannot hear a word
just pressure..oh so much now
and a mocking that is heard.

Shhh...be so still
Under the blanket I would slide
Pressure making me physically sick
there is no where else to hide.

I feel another presence now
this one..He's a Friend
He will keep me safe from it
and to it..put an end.

There is someone else also
something always in the hall
a man in black tails and hat
a man so very tall.

This one laughs..waiting for me
and around him death is near
he's waiting to take me with him
take me right away from here.

For a long Time these attacks went on
eventually they ceased to be
but still here with me now and then
tucked away in my memory.

I ask You Lord..if they were real
or just a small child's mind
I'll wait for You to answer
although I know what I will find.

A member of that household
come to me one day
and started talking of those days
and then preceded to say...

One night..in bed..awoken
to a strange man in the hall
he was dressed all in black
and oh so very tall.

Black tails he was wearing then
an old top hat on his head
A strange looking visitor..
A friend of yours? ..she said.

Now I had my answer
now to ask..just why?
I stand a little overwhelmed
do I laugh or do I cry?

The things that I had 'dreamed' back then
were all so very real
Things beyond earth's knowledge
and You were there Lord...I could feel.
