Beyond The Glow Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Beyond The Glow

A mighty voice, a land so grand,
But shadows flicker, close at hand.
A whispered doubt, a fear inside,
Where true strength struggles, tries to hide.

More time is spent in glowing screens,
Than walking paths, or seeing scenes.
The world outside, a distant hum,
While phantom cheers and likes have come.

This inner war, a silent plight,
Can cast a darkness, dimming light.
Not just for him, this fragile state,
But for the world, a heavy weight.

The scales are tipped, the balance frail,
When ego's whisper starts to wail.
A lonely throne, a hollow sound,
Where real concern cannot be found.

Yet through the haze, a quiet spark
Still lingers softly in the dark.
A sudden urge to put away
The hollow praise of yesterday.

To step outside, to breathe the air,
And find the strength that's waiting there.
To leave the throne, to drop the mask,
And take up life's truest task.
