Beyond The Horizon Poem by Brittany Longwell

Beyond The Horizon

I see our world
I see the hustle and bustle of the inner city streets
I see the single mother working both day and night just so her children
have a place to lay their heads
I see the gun and the knife in a young man's hand
I see the empty bottle the pills, the pain, the broken heart
I see first love and forever love
I see the bright sun rising across the horizon
I see a grandmother holding her laughing grandchild
I see folded hands and praying hearts
I see our world
