Beyond The Shore Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

Beyond The Shore

There is a time, I know
When darkness shall over me flow;
A time when our hearts must part,
And my final journey start.

Oh, would I know, the time or place
Of my final glimpse of your sweet face;
I would hold you tight before
I journey far beyond the shore.

If I could, but know somehow
That we would be the same as now,
And together be forever more
In yonder life, beyond the shore.

My joy would reach into my soul;
Eternal life would make me whole
For I would know as not before
That we shall meet, beyond the shore.
