Beyond The Sounds Of Guns And Death Poem by Jean Mallette

Beyond The Sounds Of Guns And Death

Rating: 5.0

Beyond the sounds of guns and death
And all the pangs of lifelessness,
There flows the sweet and blessed breath-
A world that's born in peacefulness.

A nation that unites all men
Beneath one banner and one pride;
Where everyone who lives shall win;
Where war itself is cast aside.

No cause is there within its sphere
Worth fighting o'er or dying for;
Nor is there need for men to fear
For fear itself exists no more.

O'er the bloody seas of war
And o'er the battlefields of hate,
There looms a world worth living for-
The world for which we all must wait.
