Bhairava,
Kala Bhairava,
Om kalbhairavay namah,
An avatar of Shiva
With the dandapani, the rod of punishment
And the dog following him
Or as his attendant.
The legend as for
Who is superior, Brahma or Vishnu,
Brahma turning egoistical
And calling himself more powerful than Shiva
Ends in the cutting of his one head
Positioned into the hands of Kala Bhairava
And all this when Shiva but threw a hair
Turning into Kala Bhairava and the errand done.
Bhairava the awesome one, the fearsome one,
One who punishes,
Maintains, creates, destroys and dissolves,
Bhairava, Kala Bhairava,
A manifestation of Siva
But in many figures and faces
Looking terrible and fierce.
